Celebrating Excellence: Infinity 5.0 Interuniversity Case Study Competition
The awarding ceremony of the Infinity 5.0 Interuniversity Case Study Competition took place on October 23, 2024, at the Sri Sumangala Auditorium, University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ). Organized by the Commerce Society of the Department of Commerce at FMSC, USJ, the event commenced at 9:30 AM and attracted a diverse audience of participants, faculty, and distinguished guests.
A total of 20 teams from seven universities across Sri Lanka participated in this prestigious event, showcasing the talent and innovation of undergraduate students in the field of commerce. Dr. Rohantha Athukorala, the President of Clootrack Software Labs in Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Pakistan, served as the Chief Guest. He was not only a member of the final judging panel but also delivered an inspiring keynote address. In his speech, Dr. Athukorala shared valuable insights on the potential of undergraduates and the current economic outlook of Sri Lanka. He emphasized the significance of innovation and strategic thinking in addressing today’s business challenges, motivating students to harness their skills for the economic development of the nation.
The ceremony recognized the outstanding achievements of the competition participants. Team Vision Voyage from APIIT Kandy was awarded 2nd Runner-UP, while Team Aurora from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura secured the 1st Runner-Up position, showcasing remarkable teamwork and strategic problem-solving abilities. The championship title was claimed by Team Brainstormer Trio, also from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The success of the event was significantly enhanced by the support of its sponsors. The Lions Club of Colombo Centennial served as the Platinum Sponsor, and the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing acted as the Knowledge Sponsor. Representatives from both organizations addressed the audience, reaffirming their commitment to empowering students and fostering educational initiatives.
As the ceremony concluded, it celebrated not only the accomplishments of the winners but also the dedication and effort of all participants. The Infinity 5.0 competition provided a valuable platform for students to demonstrate their skills and engage in meaningful learning experiences, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.
