Innovation in Action: Visit to South Asia's Premier Sustainable Manufacturing Plant

The Department of Commerce organized a field visit to Hirdaramani KNIT – Mihila, Agalawatte; the first sustainable and carbon-neutral manufacturing facility in the South Asian region. The purpose was to enhance the understanding of third-year undergraduates in the department regarding sustainability initiatives and financial reporting aspects of a sustainability-driven organization, as part of the partial fulfillment of the course COM3341 – Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting. This event was facilitated by Hirdramani under the terms agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two organizations.
