Debate Sessions on Contemporary Macroeconomic Issues

Department of Business Economics offers BEC 2340: Macroeconomics course for eleven departments of the Faculty of Management Studies of Commerce in order to provide students with the understanding of the aggregate economic systems and to train students in macroeconomic analysis.

In achieving the intended objectives the course, the department organizes various types of activities. Accordingly, a series of debate sessions was organized on contemporary macroeconomic issues prevailing in Sri Lanka which was held on the 21st January 2019 at the premises of Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. Thereby, fourteen debate sessions were taken place under two debate motions; ‘does privatization serve public interest?’ and ‘should exchange rate be controlled?’.
