Guest Lecture on Economic Policies and Development

With the invitation of Dr. Janak Kumarasinghe-Coordinator of BEC 4323: Development Economics,  Prof. H.N. Thenuwara from the University of Lowa, United States conducted a guest lecture on Economic Policies and Development on the 2nd August 2017 at Fayol Hall of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce.

BEC 4323: Development Economics is offered by the Department of Business Economics for the final undergraduates of the Departments of Business Economics, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge that is useful in policy making and strategic business decisions. It encompasses areas of economic development, characteristics of developing nations, theories of economic development and growth, poverty, and income distribution. The major focus is on the Sri Lankan economy.
