“Saarawath Kethak – Haritha Deranak” Project

“Saarawath Kethak – Haritha Deranak”, a community development project implemented under the BEC 4351: Development Economics course offered by the Department of Business Economics was successfully completed on 24th February 2020. The project was implemented by the final year undergraduates of the Department of Entrepreneurship with the guidance of the lecturers of the Department of Business Economics. Under this project, students planted 60 “Mee” plants around the paddy fields at Mawanella situated in Mawanella DS Division. The project was aimed to promote sustainable agriculture practices among the farmers in the village. The event was graced with the presence of the Chief Incumbent of the Makehelwala Thotupala Viharaya, Prof. P.J. Kumarasinghe, Mr. Dimuth Jayasundara (Lecturer), Regional Development Officer, Agricultural Research and Development Officer, Vice Principle of Makehelwala School, Grama Niladhari and villagers of Makehelwala.
