3rd Annual Conference on Business Economics (ACBE) 2022 – Technical Sessions

The 3rd Annual Conference on Business Economics organized by the Research Center for
Business Economics and Development Studies was held on the 26 th August 2022.
This was held by the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies
and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura in celebrating 20 years of excellence in
Business Economics.
The conference was equipped with seven (07) technical sessions (five (05) undergraduate
technical sessions and two (02) postgraduate technical sessions) where researchers got the
opportunity to present their research findings and engage in productive academic discussions.
The conference was successfully concluded with the participation of prominent scholars as
session chairs both locally and internationally. Three renowned foreign scholars namely,
Prof. Yuri Sadoi (Professor in Economics, Meijo University, Japan), Prof. Hiroshi Torii
(Professor in Economics, Meijo University, Japan) and Dr. Ranjith Ihalanayake (Head of
Postgraduate Courses, Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance, Victoria University
Business School, Melbourne, Australia) joined as session chairs of the technical sessions.
Further, session chairs joined from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Customs
also added much color to the event.
Thirty (30) selected abstracts of the postgraduates and undergraduates were presented at the
conference and were published in the proceedings of the conference.
