HeartStrings

HeartStrings is the English Day of the Department of Business Economics, organised in collaboration with the Business Communication Unit. The event provides undergraduates with a platform to strengthen their English language skills, creative expression, confidence, and cultural engagement through a range of literary and aesthetic activities.

The initiative includes competitions such as creative writing, spelling, recitation, speech, and essay writing, encouraging students to express their ideas with clarity, creativity, and originality. Selected student work may also be recognised through departmental publications and presentations, thereby creating opportunities to celebrate student achievement in language and communication.

HeartStrings also features performances in areas such as music, dance, and drama, bringing together students and academic staff in a shared celebration of language, creativity, and community.

As a departmental initiative, it contributes to holistic undergraduate development by promoting communication skills, teamwork, confidence, artistic appreciation, and student engagement beyond the conventional classroom environment.
