After achieving the fourth-highest Z-score at the 2015 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, choosing the B.Sc. Honours in Business Administration (Business Economics) degree programme over other popular options was a decision I have never second-guessed. Life is shaped by the choices we make, and selecting a bachelor’s specialisation is particularly important because it influences both our future professional and personal lives.

The main reason I selected Business Economics was that it does not limit students to a single technical field. Its distinctive combination of management and economics enables graduates to pursue opportunities in areas such as investment management, finance, operations management, research and development, international relations, and economics. It is therefore a smart choice for students who wish to explore their capabilities while keeping a wide range of career opportunities open.

The scope of the programme has also been enriched by allowing students to follow a specialisation in Banking, Development Studies, or International Economics and Business. Each specialisation equips students with practical, timely, and highly demanded knowledge.

A signature feature of the Department is its highly supportive and student-centred learning culture. Students are also encouraged to participate in social, professional, and skills-development activities that enrich their undergraduate experience.

Looking back on my four-year journey as a student and now serving as an Assistant Lecturer in my own Department, I remain thankful for the BIZCON family. The remarkable commitment of the lecturers and the welcoming culture of the Department continue to propel its students towards success.
