I consider it a great privilege to have followed the degree programme offered by the Department of Business Economics of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. It is a unique undergraduate programme within the Sri Lankan university system because it combines the disciplines of management and economics.
This combination opens up a wide range of employment opportunities for graduates in fields such as the corporate sector, banking, policy analysis, research, and the public sector. The well-qualified and experienced lecturing panel and the well-organised curriculum provide students with a strong foundation for a vibrant and stable professional future.
The programme also provides an engaging and practical educational experience through co-curricular activities such as workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industry visits, surveys, and field visits. These activities enable students to connect their academic knowledge with practical applications while developing networks with industry professionals.
