First International Conference on Economics and Development (ICED 2017)
The inaugural International Conference on Economics and Development (ICED 2017) was held on 15 and 16 June 2017 in Colombo. The conference was hosted by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in collaboration with the International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM).
The conference was chaired by Dr. (Mrs.) Sumudu Perera, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce.
“Inclusive Economic Growth: Rethinking the Development Process in a Time of Paradigm Shift”
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Saman Kelegama, Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka. The first day concluded with an Economic Forum featuring the participation of renowned economists and other distinguished personalities in the country.
Technical sessions were conducted on both days under 12 different thematic tracks, providing a platform for researchers and participants to present and discuss contemporary issues relating to economics and development.
