‘Piyawara’ Community Development Project

‘Piyawara’ was a project carried out by the undergraduates of the Department of Business Administration with the objective of developing the IT lab of WP/Mathu/Lihiniyawa Junior School in Kaluthara District. This was conducted under the BEC 3324: Project Management course offered by the Department of Business Economics. The project team could donated 30 computers with the required standards and specifications. Operating system and other required software were installed by the members of the team themselves. In order to complete computer installation, the team had to do wiring as well. To locate the computers, tables and chairs also were donated. Interior designing was a major concern since the learning environment should be a pleasant one. Therefore, the team took actions to colour wash walls and to hang curtains to windows.
