The Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted a Social Dancing Session under the course BEC 3180: Personal and Professional Development on 2 July 2026 at the Fayol Hall of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The session was conducted by Mr. Sisira Galage, who guided the students through an engaging and practical learning experience. The programme was designed to enhance students’ confidence, social interaction, coordination, discipline, and interpersonal skills through social dancing.

As part of BEC 3180, the session provided students with an opportunity to move beyond classroom-based learning and experience personality development through active participation. Students were able to improve their communication, teamwork, and self-expression while developing a greater sense of confidence in social and professional settings.

The Social Dancing Session was both enjoyable and educational, creating a lively environment where students could learn the importance of body language, rhythm, cooperation, and professional etiquette. The active involvement of the students reflected their enthusiasm and willingness to develop essential soft skills required for their future careers.

The Department of Business Economics continues to organize such practical and student-centered activities under BEC 3180: Personal and Professional Development to support the holistic development of undergraduates and prepare them for the professional world.
