Department of Business Economics welcomes 2018 New Year
The Department welcomed 2018 with a New Year gathering that brought together academic and non-academic staff and students to celebrate new beginnings and extend wishes for a successful year ahead.
Comenzando – Mini Welcome Function 2017
> The **Mini Welcome Function 2017**, themed *Comenzando*, was held on **29 November 2017 from 1.00 p.m. onwards at the University Grounds**, welcoming second-year students through an engaging programme of games, performances, and recreational activities involving students and academic staff.
Grand Finale of Radix 2017
The Grand Finale of RADIX 2017, the first inter-university dancing competition for management undergraduates, was held on 16 November 2017 from 6.00 p.m. onwards at the Bandaranaike Hall, showcasing six finalist teams while providing students with practical exposure to project planning and event management.
Second Round of Radix 2017
The second round of RADIX 2017 was held on 7 September 2017 from 6.00 p.m. onwards at the Bandaranaike Hall, bringing together nine dance teams from four universities to showcase their talents through performances centred on the theme of “Humanity.”
RADIX 2017: First Phase of Round 1
RADIX 2017, organised by BIZCON in celebration of the Department’s 15th anniversary, brought together undergraduates from management faculties across Sri Lanka for the first inter-university dancing competition of its kind, providing a platform to showcase their dancing talent and creativity.

“ECON-INSIGHT 2017”, the seminar series for A/L students organised by the Students’ Association of Business Economics (BIZCON), was successfully held on 31st January 2017 at the National College of Education for Management and Entrepreneurship in Maharagama.
Annual Field Trip of the Department of Business Economics
The annual field trip of the Department brought together students and academic staff for a two-day visit to Udawalawe and Belihuloya, combining recreational and cultural activities while strengthening relationships and camaraderie within the Department.
Annual CSR Project of the Department of Business Economics
“Colouring Smiles,” the Department’s annual social responsibility project, supported Udawalawa Maha Vidyalaya through the donation of a multipurpose photocopy machine, books, a cupboard, and library book racks, with the participation of academic staff and students.
