J’PURA EXPO 2022

J’PURA EXPO 2022

The forex crisis or the lack of foreign reserves is one of the major issues that the country is facing right now as an economy. The trade deficit problem that has been going on for a while led Sri Lanka to be tangled more in this crisis.

Sri Lanka has enormous potential to expand and capture global markets if the economy is managed strategically and tactfully in light of current global market trends. “Nevertheless, lack of awareness among the potential exporters, difficulties in finding buyers for their products and low infrastructure and government support have been long persistent challenges out of many other such for domestic exporters. Thus it has become crucial to create a platform for facilitating a public dialogue on export potential and awareness while promoting the export industry through the dissemination of knowledge and guidance to reach global markets sustainably.

As the Department of Business Economics of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, we have identified the above issues and conducted an invaluable export-promoting project which included a website launching ceremony, an export policy review forum, a foreign employment awareness program, a product fair and a common awareness program. This series of events of Japura Expo 2022 was successfully held on 5th, 15th and 17th December 2022 at University premises and Mihilaka Medura BMICH, Colombo.
