Recognising Outstanding Academic Achievement
Ms. Chalani Madhushani Liyanage of the Department of Business Economics was awarded the Gold Medal donated by the National Institute of Business Management at the 48th Convocation of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The convocation was held on 22 October 2022 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo. The medal recognised her achievement in obtaining a First Class pass with the highest Grade Point Average at the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Business Economics) Special Degree Examination held in March 2022.
Ms. Liyanage obtained the highest GPA among the students of the Department of Business Economics from the 2016/2017 batch. Alongside her academic achievements, she contributed actively to several student organisations within the University, including the Business Economics Students’ Association, BIZCON, from 2019 to 2021.
The NIBM Gold Medal is awarded annually to the best-performing student of the Department of Business Economics upon completion of the degree programme.
