“Sexuality and Self Responsibility” by UNFPA

On October 7th 2024, the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, hosted an impactful lecture on Sexuality and Self-responsibility. The event took place at the faculty premises and featured Ms. Yashara Nathaniel, a Programme Analyst for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at the United Nations Population Fund, as the keynote speaker.

The lecture focused on the critical importance of understanding sexuality and personal responsibility in today’s society. Ms. Nathaniel shared insights on various aspects of sexual health, emphasizing the need for informed decision-making and proactive engagement in personal well-being.

The session was attended by over 60 students, who actively engaged in discussions and asked thoughtful questions. Moreover a quiz was conducted to check students’ understanding and success of the programme and the top 5 students were rewarded with gifts.

Overall, the event was a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their perspectives on these essential issues, equipping them with knowledge that is crucial for personal development and future societal engagement.
