On October 7th 2024, the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura hosted an impactful lecture on Sexuality and Self-responsibility. The event took place at the Faculty premises and featured Ms. Yashara Nathaniel, Programme Analyst for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at the United Nations Population Fund, as the keynote speaker.

The lecture focused on the critical importance of understanding sexuality and personal responsibility in today’s society. Ms. Nathaniel shared valuable insights on various aspects of sexual health, emphasising the need for informed decision-making and proactive engagement in personal well-being.

The session was attended by over 60 students, who actively participated in discussions and raised thoughtful questions throughout the programme. In addition, a quiz was conducted to assess students’ understanding and the effectiveness of the programme, where the top five students were recognised and rewarded with gifts.

Overall, the event provided a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their perspectives on these important social and personal issues, equipping them with knowledge essential for personal development and future societal engagement.
