Certificate program on Management leading to fulfill the Third Efficiency Bar Examination for the officers in Grade 1 of SLTS

The above certificate program is a three-month short-term program which was launched on 4th June, 2016 with a view to enhancing managerial capacity of the officers in Grade 1 of Sri Lanka Technological Service. The completion of this certificate program is recognized as the completion of their third efficiency bar examination required them to promote as super grade officers of the same service. The proposals were invited by the Ministry of Public Administration and Management from various Universities and Higher Educational Institutions to select a suitable academic body as the host for this short-term program. After a competitive evaluation process, The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has been selected by the Ministry as the host academic body. As a result, the FMSC has detailed the program by preparing course syllabi and mobilizing required human and physical resources to ensure the smooth functioning of the program. Accordingly, this program consists of five (05) modules including, Public Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Conflict Management, and a practical project report. The FMSC decided to have the services from its three distinguished departments namely, Department of Public Administration, Department of Business Administration, and Department of Human Resource Management to conduct the program smoothly. The day of inaugural of this short-term program has been gracious with the presence of Dr. U Anura Kumara, Dean, the FMSC, Mr. J. Dadallage, Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration and Management, Professor Lalitha S Fernando, Head, Department of Public Administration, Mr. Marlon Gunesekara, Head, Department of Business Administration, academic and administrative staff members of the aforesaid departments and the FMSC, and several officials from the Ministry concerned.
