Dr. Mahesh Fernando wins the best student paper award at Health Informatics and Knowledge Management (HIKM) conference 2019 held in Australia.

Dr. W. Mahesh N. Fernando attached to the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce won the award of the best student research paper at the 12th Australasian Workshop on Health Informatics and Knowledge Management (HIKM) conducted in par with Australasian Computer Science Week (ACSW), held in Macquaire University, Sydney, Australia from 29th to 31st January 2019. This conference is the premier event for Computer Science researchers across Australasia, organized under the governing auspices of Computing Research and Education (CORE) Association of Australasia.

Dr. Fernando had submitted this paper with the title “An Overall Health and Well-Being Data Model for Employer-Sponsored Personal Health Records” to the conference as a doctoral student. This paper explaines a research study conducted using a mixed method research approach to identify factors of overall health and well-being for office-based employees. This paper filled the knowledge gap in the domain of consumer health informatics through the development of a data model for employer-sponsored personal health record system.
