BEC Student wins Best Paper Award at SAESM 2020
Mr. Pasan Wijayawardhana, a fourth year undergraduate of the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce won the Best Paper Award for the research paper titled “Can compensating wage differentials economically empower women in South Asia?” presented under the theme of “Mainstreaming Gender for Development” at the 16th South Asian Economics Students’ Meet (SAESM) 2020.
SAESM 2020 was held from the 21st to 26th January 2020 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This was organized by the Central Department of Economies, Tribhuvan University in collaboration with the Nepal Economic Association and the World Bank. SAESM can be cited as the largest students’ Economics conference in the South Asian region.
