J'pura Alumni Association's Donations Benefit Three Differently-Abled FMSC Students

In a heartwarming gesture of compassion and commitment to education, Mr. Harsha Chaminda, alongside the ‘Japura Best Mates’ alumni association, recently donated wheelchairs to three differently-abled students at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The event took place at the Dean’s Office at 9:30 am on December 1, 2023. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, and the Dean of the FMSC, Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama.

Beyond the physical support, these students were also granted scholarships, aimed at easing their financial burden and empowering them to pursue their studies with greater focus and dedication.

The ‘Japura Best Mates’ alumni association organizes an annual cricket tournament with the primary objective of fostering social networking and providing a platform for alumni to reconnect.  The funds collected through this initiative, including the recent donation, not only exemplify the alumni community’s dedication to giving back but also showcase their commitment to creating a positive impact on the lives of current FMSC students.
