Webinar Workshop on “Pitching Research”
The faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) has organized the webinar workshop on Pitching Research for upcoming researchers of the FMSC. The main purpose of this research webinar is to enhance the research skill of the novice researchers of the faculty. The main participants for this research webinar were upcoming researchers of the faculty, PhD and M.Sc. students of the faculty and special academic invitees from other universities.
This research webinar workshop was done by Prof. (Dr) Robert Faff who is a world class researcher at the Queensland Business School, University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. This webinar workshop was coordinated by Dr. Wasantha Perera, Senior lecturer, Department of Finance and assisted by Mr. Shantha Puhuwella, Coordinator, ITRC and Mr. Isuru Wanasinghe, Technical Officer, FMSC. - Abstract: In short, the webinar workshop identifies, explains and illustrates a simple structured framework/tool to successfully communicate the (early origins of) key elements of a research idea to an academic expert in the field.
- Target Audience: any researcher – novice or experienced, from any discipline (NOT just finance NOT just Business), and any style of research – either quantitative or qualitative. I am very keen for a diverse group of researchers to participate. The talk is very general in nature.
