FMSC at 65:Celebrating 65 Years of Excellence in Management Education in Sri Lanka(1960-2025)

The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is poised to celebrate its 65th anniversary this year and preparations are underway to commemorate this important milestone with grandeur with a series of events spanning across the year starting from July.

In keeping with the traditions of the University, the anniversary celebrations will commence with an overnight pirith chanting on the 23rd of July 2025 and the offering of midday Sanghika Dana and pirikara to 100 members of the Maha Sangha on the following day, the 24th of July 2025 to invoke the blessings of the triple gem on the university community.

Also featured in the anniversary celebrations scheduled for the month of July is the ceremonial opening of the newly-constructed Fifth Wing of the Sri Soratha Mandeeraya of the Faculty on the 24th of July 2025 amidst multi-faith religious observances. The newly-built multi-storied building equipped with lecture halls, IT labs, boardrooms, an auditorium, a language centre, office and study spaces, and a cafeteria, will be declared open by the Chief Guest Mr. Nalaka Kaluwewe, the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education in the graceful presence of the Guest of Honour Senior Prof. M.M.Pathmalal, the Vice Chancellor of the University,
