FMSC Heads felicitate outgoing Dean

The Heads of Departments and Unit Coordinators of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura felicitated their outgoing Dean, Prof. P.D. Nimal by hosting him to a luncheon at the Monarc Imperial Hotel, Thalawathugoda, recently. This event was organized to appreciate Prof. Nimal’s dedicated service to the Faculty as Dean, for the past three years where he steered the Faculty with determination and courage through a crucial period when the COVID-19 pandemic threw the activities of the Faculty into disarray, and the economic crisis severely hampered the functioning process of the Faculty. Prof. Nimal’s perseverance  and ability to stand like the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’, unafraid and with tremendous strength of character, saw the smooth transition from face-to-face teaching and examinations to the online mode, whilst the well-being of all the Faculty’s academic and non-academic staff and undergraduates was ensured and the functioning of the Faculty was carried out with utmost precision. Being the largest Management Faculty in a state university in Sri Lanka, The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce has yet again proven its ability to be a trend-setter in the arena of higher education in Sri Lanka.
