MoU among the Dept. of ENT, Career Guidance Unit and National Enterprise Development Authority
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among Department of Entrepreneurship(DoE), The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) and National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) to conduct the joint project “Wayawasaayaka Udanaya” Entrepreneurship Skills Development Program for the Undergraduates of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. It would also expect to share management expertise, knowledge, experience and strengths of both organizations, in order to provide comprehensive service package for the benefit of the undergraduates of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and in return, it would expect mutual benefits of both organizations.
Department of Entrepreneurship conducts a specially developed series of workshop to develop entrepreneurial skills among undergraduates of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Leading entrepreneurs, academics and experienced managers of Sri Lankan business organizations conduct the workshops on business management, entrepreneurship and career development to improve knowledge, sharpen up skills and to internalize positive attitudes among the undergraduates. Since NEDA conducts special program to identify potential entrepreneurs in order to facilitate to start new ventures, in this year onwards NEDA has joined with this special project with their “Wayawasaayaka Udanaya” program.
The main objectives of the program are;
- To introduce the concepts related with entrepreneurship & best practices of management.
- To stimulate undergraduates to start their own ventures.
- To guide undergraduates in planning their personal and career lives.
- To ensure right jobs for best achievers through enrolling them into the Job Bank and Business Club of the Department of Entrepreneurship.
Mr. R.N Weerasinghe- Head (DoE), Dr. Omar Kamil- Chairman (NEDA), and Dr. Geetha Tharanganie- Director (CGU) signed the aforementioned MoU on 20th day of September Two Thousand and Sixteen.
