The Students’ Association of Public Administration (APA) of University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized “Sandakada 2024”, the anthology of Buddhist poetry on the occasion of Poson Poya.
The launching event of the anthology of poetry successfully took place on 28th June 2024 from 10.00 a.m. onwards through Zoom platform with the participation of all the competitors who came from different Universities.
The event was glamoured with the participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama and the Head of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. R. P. C. K. Jayasinghe. Furthermore, Head of the Department of Accounting, Senior Prof. Kennedy Gunawardana and Additional Secretary (Policy, Planning and Performance Review) of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Udara Dikkumbura has participated as the guests of the event.
Further, the organizing committee got more than seventy poems from the undergraduates from island wide and the committee decided to select the best eight poems out of all with a very transparent judgment. The honorable judge panel of the event consisted of two judges who Prof. Saman Chandra Ranasinghe, Department of Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Senior Lecturer Tharindu Dhananjaya, Department of Human Resource Management, University of Kelaniya.
The Association organized this event with the aim of appreciating the undergraduates from all the Universities in Sri Lanka who have a passion to write poems. The committee provided the certificates and a hardcopy of the book to the all competitors.
